Why visit

A sheltered Adriatic harbour of stone lanes, quiet bays and one of Dalmatia’s most unusual natural landmarks.

Rogoznica lies around a deeply sheltered bay between Split and Šibenik, with its historic centre occupying a small peninsula of old stone houses and narrow streets. The shape of the coastline gives the town a close relationship with the sea: marinas, small beaches and protected coves appear in almost every direction.

One of Rogoznica’s most distinctive sights is Zmajevo oko — the Dragon’s Eye — a natural marine lake near Marina Frapa whose dramatic name has become part of local identity. Farther along the coast, Cape Planka marks an exposed meeting point of winds, currents and open sea.

Rogoznica makes sense as a quieter alternative to the larger coastal towns. It works well as a short waterfront stop between Primošten and Trogir or as a destination for travellers who prefer sheltered bays and an understated seaside atmosphere.
